About NXTLVL Magazine

NXTLVL Magazine (pronounced NEXT LEVEL)  is an Urban Pop Culture publication with a spiritual, post-evangelical perspective on life and culture, produced for those looking for depth and significance in a society, and yes, Church, that increasingly lacks much of either. This is achieved by only publishing engaging, intelligent, and culturally relevant material. NXTLVL Magazine is produced and maintained by NXTLVL Media, LLC, based out of Houston, Texas.

So whats up with the name?

NXTLVL Magazine is really about the struggle every Christian faces while looking for Spiritual truth and significance in both a very nonspiritual world, and a politicized and divided church. We  question and struggle daily with the things we’ve been taught, and the society we see outside. We ask hard questions and seek raw, Biblical truth, and the sense and ability to navigate them in a progressive World.  The goal is not to propagate commercial Christianity (ie cheap, watered down Christianity for the masses), or to be preachy, anti-establishment Church Bashers. We  just know that where we are right now, simply isnt where we are supposed to remain indefinitely, both as a Church and individually. Its not about the denomination, not about the Republicans or the Democrats, not about liberals or conservatives.  Its about the fact that there is something more. There is a NXTLVL, and we want to get there. 

The Mission/The Movement

NXTLVL Magazine presents the Gospel and promotes Christian Music, Events, Artists, and groups who do not stray in its core message. We examine the mainstream aspects of our culture and their spiritual implications. We promote Christian Music, Events, Artists, and groups who encourage and provoke you to grow in Christ and reach the next level of your Christian walk in a constantly changing culture. We provide music and information that is positive and above all Christ-Centered.

NXTLVL Magazine is most definitely NOT your typical Gospel Magazine. Though urban, our style and tastes are very eclectic. We strive to be globally and socially minded, discussing the issues and ministries  in and outside the United States that are putting God’s word into action in a real and tangible way. In all, NXTLVL Magazine celebrates the modes and methods in which the Word of God is spread, especially through media. At NXTLVL Magazine, we are all about “Christ. Life. Music.”
